As June rolls around, I’ve been thinking about those big questions like, “what is the nature of God?” and “what sandals should I buy for the summertime?” In regards to the former, a friend pointed out to me how God is most often talked about as a lord and king in our Mormon sphere. I’ve been trying out this idea of divinity, and this illustration is one such attempt.
Mara Lemesany is a mix of that mysterious, unnameable ingredient and atoms. She was recently released from the ivory tower into the workaday world, God help us all. While she often pines for the western USofA (Book of Mormon belt, red rocks, family), she makes good of exploring her new home in the east (vast subway systems, sea-level climates, post-college wandering).
